Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage is a similar browser feature that stores data on your device until you clear it. Both let a site remember information between visits.
2. What we currently use
- Strictly necessary — used by our hosting platform to serve the site securely and protect against abuse. These are exempt from the consent requirement because the site cannot work without them.
- Local storage (functional, set by your actions) — when you save an itinerary or upload your own route in the route preview, we store it in your browser’s local storage so you can return to it. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Analytics — [not currently in use / provider: [Analytics provider]] — if enabled, these help us understand how the site is used. They are only set with your consent.
- Advertising cookies — we do not use any.
3. Cookie table
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| [hosting session cookie] | Strictly necessary | Secure delivery of the site | Session |
| triply-itineraries | Local storage (functional) | Saves itineraries you create | Until you clear it |
| triply-custom-routes | Local storage (functional) | Saves routes you upload | Until you clear it |
| [analytics cookie name] | Analytics (consent) | Aggregated usage measurement | [duration] |
4. Managing your preferences
You can clear locally stored itineraries and routes at any time by deleting them in the route preview section or clearing site data in your browser. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings — see the ICO’s cookie guidance. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
If we introduce analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will show a consent banner allowing you to accept or reject them and to change your mind later.
